Tête de Moine and Cherry Pear Chia Seed Jam
This jam is a perfect accompaniment to Tête de Moine cheese. Place a small amount of jam and a rosette of Tête de Moine cheese on a cracker for a simple, delicate and distinguished appetizer.
Ingredients
350 ml | frozen sweet cherries |
1 | pear, chopped into ½ inch pieces |
30 ml | honey |
half an orange | |
118 ml | water |
15 ml | chia seeds |
Preparation

Mix the cherries, chopped pear, honey, water and orange zest in a medium saucepan.

Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Once the mixture is bubbling, turn to medium-low and stir in the chia seeds.

Cook, stirring frequently until desired texture is reached (thicker jam-type consistency), about 20-25 minutes. Let the mixture cool.

Tips for this recipe

The longer you cook the jam, the thicker it will become. After 20-25 minutes it is a nice texture, and it will also thicken a bit more when it cools.

You can make this jam ahead of time and store it in the fridge for about 1 week or freeze for longer storage and defrost in the fridge when ready to use.
